Jennifer
Rowland, M.S., P.T., M.P.H., Ph.D |

Ms. Rowland received a BA in English and a BS in
journalism from the University of Kansas, and went on to earn an MS in
Community Health Education and Physical Therapy from Old Dominion
University. Ms. Rowland has
worked as a Physical Therapist in long-term care nursing facilities and
home health agencies for the past six years, and joined the RTC/IL last
fall as a PhD student in the Department of Human Development and Family
Life. Ms. Rowland is
concurrently enrolled in the MPH (Masters of Public Health) Program at the
University of Kansas Medical Center. Ms. Rowland’s research interests are focused on
increasing functional independence for individuals with disabilities and
chronic illness. She is
currently the Research Coordinator for the RISC Project, which is studying
the effectiveness of a web-based computer program designed to predict
secondary conditions among individuals with spinal cord injuries. In addition to these research interests, Ms. Rowland also hopes to gain research knowledge in health promotion and patient education, and to develop effective facilitation programs in these areas. |
