Monika Suchowierska, Ph.D.

Monika Suchowierska is a fifth year graduate student in the Department of Human Development and Family Life (HDFL). She received her BA in Psychology in 1998 from Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL. and her MA in Human Development in 2000 from the University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS under the Supervision of Dr. Donald M. Baer and Dr. L. Keith Miller. Currently she is co-advised for her Dissertation Program by Drs. L. Keith Miller and Glen W. White. Her interests have shifted from using principles of behavior analysis in educational settings to applying those principles to solve problems that are important to people with disabilities. Her recent focus is on Participatory Action Research (PAR). Dr. White and Monika have been interested in exploring the benefits and the challenges of PAR to the research process. After receiving her Ph.D., Monika is planning to go back to her home country (Poland) and to cooperate with Polish professionals who are interested in applied behavior analysis.
