Vivian has been involved in the area of behavior analysis for the past 8 years. She has worked with individuals with mental retardation and other disorders as a behavior analyst; with children with autism providing one-on-one behavioral interventions, and as a researcher in the area of community applications of behavior analysis for individuals with physical disabilities. She also conducted a one-year research study in the Ann Sullivan Center of Peru (CASP) in Lima, with pairs of siblings (one nondisabled and the other with developmental disabilities). Her advisor at the University of Kansas is Dr. Glen W. White, Ph.D. Together, and in collaboration with the University of Montana, Ms. Chapman and Dr. White conducted a nation-wide study on cost-effectiveness of a health intervention for people with disabilities in several communities in the United States. Vivian has also attended several disability conferences in her native Ecuador with SCI Specialists from Shepherd Center in Atlanta, and as a member of Momentum International. She is currently working on her dissertation, which examines the social interactions between nondisabled children and their siblings with disabilities.
